Linia in the media! Daily Mirror – Your Life

April 7, 2011

Linia patient Amanda was so delighted with her ‘tummy-tuck’ surgery with us, she recently shared her experience with readers in the Your Life section of the Daily Mirror.

Here’s what Amanda said -

DAILY MIRROR – 31/03/11

Fat and Frumpy… then we had children

I had a mummy tummy tuck

Amanda McMurtrie, 30, works for a bank and lives in Shropshire with her partner Andrew, 32, and her three children, Lewis, Leah and Alfie.

Like many women my weight has fluctuated over the years. At 5ft 2in I’ve been everything from a size eight to an 18-20 and that meant even when I lost weight, I had skin on my stomach that wouldn’t tone up.

When my weight finally stabilised at 8st 7lb and a size 10-12, I couldn’t shift my flabby tummy and I felt really self-conscious about it.

I always covered up in baggy clothes and refused to pose for photographs unless I could fold my arms across my middle.

After having three children my muscles didn’t knit together properly which meant my stomach became even more saggy and it was covered in stretch marks.

I couldn’t even bring myself to let Andrew see me naked. I was desperate for a tummy tuck so after Alfie was born I started saving hard. Friends and family thought I was crazy, until I showed them my bare stomach and then they agreed.

In the end I had the tummy tuck, which cost me £4,800. Immediately I was delighted to see how flat my stomach looked.

Now I’m happy to wear figure hugging dresses, knowing that my horrible bulge is no longer there. I’m happier with my figure now than ever. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.
